Comment Guidelines

Thank you for being part of the growing Hustedia community.  Although we certainly encourage all our viewers to have open and honest discussions on our site, our primary objective in the discussion threads is to have clean and good conversation, while maintaining a level of enjoyment, constructive, enlightening, and informative.  Although we believe in “Free” speech certainly, the boundaries of that Freedom are reigned in to maintain a friendly and enjoyable environment for all.  Therefore, Hustedia.com is moderated.

The types of conversation we encourage include:

• Add new and additional information about the subject being discussed.  If you have information you’d like to share about the topic, we definitely want to hear it.  Especially if it includes new development(s) surrounding the topic at hand.

• Opinions.  You know what they say about opinions…   yeah, everybody has one!  You are certainly free to disagree with any expressed opinion!  However, you MUST do so while be respectful to others in the conversation.

• We encourage the linking to other sites and information that directly relates to the subject being discussed.  However, spamming and unsavory linking habits will not be tolerated at any level.

• Links to other opinion pages on major news and information sites are okay, but don’t spam them all over the place.  Though we really would like to hear your personal view on the matter.

• Corrections.  Hey, we all make mistakes.  If you find one, we’ll correct it.

Now some of the obvious rules that should not have to be repeated, but we all know they will have to be at some point anyways… so we’ll go ahead and get it out of the way:

• Offensive, inappropriate, abusive, flaming, or other disrespectful behavior will absolutely not be tolerated.

• Spam our site, and you’ll be permanently banned.  No if, and, or buts.  This should be common sense.  If you constantly repeat the same thing in multiple threads, or put advertisements in your contributions, we will consider you a spammer and you will be removed from all future contributions and discussions.

• Constant whining, complaining, insulting, and flaming will get you banned.

• Absolutely NO sexist, racist, anti-Semitic, or otherwise abusive comments will be tolerated at any level of interactivity.

• We will not tolerate any of our visitors bullying, threatening, or harassing another one of our site visitors.

• Please avoid all off-topic political comments in regards to candidates and/or parties for the sole purpose of arguing. If the subject is in regards to such a political party or candidate, its okay to discuss them, but do not do so in any way that would constitute a ban from our site.  Political discussions are often volatile, so please use the appropriate discretion.

• Please do not include any e-mail addresses, physical addresses, or phone numbers in your comments for the purpose of self-promotion, or for the purpose of harassing or publicly exposing the private data of others. These will be removed and if required, forwarded to the appropriate authorities.

• Please don’t hijack threads.

• Links to the front page of your personal blog or website are not permitted unless there is specific information contained there regarding the discussed topic.  You should link to the specific post on your site if possible if it adds to the discussion.

• Links to NSFW (Not safe for work) sites are okay if there is a legitimate reason for including them in the discussion.  However, they MUST be identified and labeled as NSFW as a courtesy to our other visitors and readers.

• Purposely mislabeled links, unidentified links, or other phishing attempts are NOT tolerated.

• Links to offensive material such as racist, anti-Semitic, sexist, etc. websites, images or videos will not be tolerated unless the topic is specifically regarding these issues and the link is identified appropriated with a warning that the site contains such material.  Again, respect ALL of our visitors.

• Link shortening is fine, as long as you identify the site and/or information being linked to.

Errata and attributions

• We welcome any alerts about typos, incorrect names, factual errors, and the like.

• We generally do not correct quoted text.

• Factual errors will be corrected if verifiable documentation is available. The correction is at the discretion of the post editor and may not happen immediately.

• Requests for credit or attribution may be honored if verifiable documentation is submitted. This modification is at the discretion of the author/editor of the post and may not happen immediately.
